Lifecycle (internal/app + main.go):
- App.OnShutdown hooks run after the HTTP server drains, in
registration order: Worker.Shutdown (background jobs now drain
instead of dying on SIGTERM), DeviceAuthMiddleware.Stop (releases
the rate-limiter ticker), Handler.CloseScanner (fsnotify watcher
and scan log files)
Security headers:
- SecurityHeadersMiddleware (survivor of middleware/security.go,
renamed security_headers.go) is now on the echo stack: nosniff,
frame-deny, HSTS, CSP (unsafe-inline required by the sanctioned
theme flash guard + Alpine), referrer and permissions policy
Scanner settings cache:
- settings saves (UpdateScanSettings + ApplySetting for the three
scan keys) now invalidate MediaScanner's 30s settings cache via
SystemSettingsHandler.SetScanSettingsChanged, so changes apply on
the next poll instead of after the TTL
- MediaScanner.Close closes the scan logger, fixing a file-descriptor
leak on every per-item rescan (fresh scanners never closed logs)
Client fix:
- custom-section-builder's add/remove-selection buttons used inline
onclick attributes referencing module-scoped functions, which are
not global in a bundled ES module: the buttons threw ReferenceError.
Functions restored and exposed on window via declare global
Also fixes a pre-existing vet error (saveCoverImage copied
echo.Context by value, mutex included) and drops the per-key
SettingsCache.InvalidateKey variant left callerless by the
full-flush invalidation wiring.
A2 made narrators/narrators_search NOT NULL DEFAULT '{}' (86f0af6), but an
explicit NULL in an INSERT/UPDATE column list bypasses the column default
— the API media-create path (POST /api/media-items without narrators)
500'd on every call, taking the whole integration suite down with it
(ISBN tests, capture seeds, all direct-DB seeds).
- set_library_type_name() trigger now coalesces NULL narrators/
narrators_search to '{}' at the row level, and its update trigger
widens from BEFORE UPDATE OF library_id to BEFORE UPDATE so every
write path is covered
- defense in depth at the callers: handler create/update normalize nil
to empty slices (normalizeNarrators), scanner seeds the same
(nilToEmpty) for files that carry no narrator credits
- analytics device-usage tests move to the dedicated per-test user
(the shared admin's device list accrues live rows mid-suite — the
documented testuser flapping class)
Pass ConnectionManager to Worker constructor to enable WebSocket
broadcasting capabilities. Updated:
- main.go: server initialization
- test_helpers.go: test setup
- commonhandlers.go: handler initialization
This change enables Worker to broadcast job updates to connected clients.
- Add GetPollInterval() method to MediaScanner to read from database
- Add GetAutoScanEnabled() method to check if auto-scan is enabled
- Remove ScanPollIntervalSeconds from config (now DB-driven)
- Update NewMediaScanner signature to not require interval parameter
- Remove SCAN_POLL_INTERVAL_SECONDS from docker-compose env var
- Rename SCAN_POLL_INTERVAL_MINUTES to SCAN_POLL_INTERVAL_SECONDS in config
- Update MediaScanner to accept interval in seconds instead of minutes
- Adjust default polling interval from 3 minutes to 30 seconds for faster response
- Add debug logging for fsnotify events to aid troubleshooting file watching
This change improves media file detection responsiveness by reducing the
polling interval from minutes to seconds, while maintaining the file
watcher as the primary detection mechanism.
- Implement event queue with 3-second debouncing for file system events
- Add configurable polling fallback (default 3 min) via SCAN_POLL_INTERVAL_MINUTES
- Add SyncFilesystemWithDatabase to detect orphaned DB entries and new files
- Integrate utils.ResolveMediaURL for consistent media file path resolution
- Add COOKIE_SECURE env var with SameSite=LaxMode for session cookies
- Update media handler to properly decode URL paths for file serving
- Refactor scanner initialization to accept poll interval configuration
Extract Handler struct, constructor, and shared utilities from scanner.go
into a new commonhandlers.go file for better code organization.
Changes:
- Move Handler struct definition to commonhandlers.go
- Move NewHandler constructor to commonhandlers.go
- Move SetupRoutes function to commonhandlers.go
- Move parseDate utility function to commonhandlers.go
- Remove unused imports from scanner.go
- Create dedicated commonhandlers.go for shared HTTP handler code
This refactoring improves code maintainability by separating
concerns between scanner-specific logic and common handler utilities,
making it easier to understand and extend the handlers package.
